WHAT IS A CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST? (CFA)
The CFA designation is a mark of distinction globally recognized by employers, investment professionals and investors as the definitive standard by which serious investment professionals are measured. To obtain the CFA designation, one must have a bachelor’s degree, and complete and pass three exams requiring approximately 250 hours of study time each. In addition, CFA charter holders must meet professional and ethical requirements to obtain their charter.
WHAT IS A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER? (CFP®)
A CFP practitioner has met the CFP Board’s education, examination and experience requirements, which includes completing the CFP academic program, having a bachelor’s degree, passing the CFP certification exam, and having at least three years of full-time work related experience. CFP practitioners adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and must meet continuing education requirements to maintain their certification.
